Satisfied with God’s food

bible reader

“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.”  Psalm 63:1″If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.  This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”  John 15:7,8

The challenge for 2013 is to grow even closer to God through regular times of personal prayer and Bible reading, accompanied by joining a Bible study and Sunday worship gatherings.  If you are looking for a Bible reading plan check out youversion.com  and explore the various reading plans you can get plugged into.

Try this; after doing your reading of Scripture, pray back to the LORD a thought that stands out to you, meditate on it, ask him for ‘this’ or declare it back to Him.  Click on this link http://www.prayerconnect.net/profile/sample and download a free sample of this magazine.  page 13 has a very helpful article called “Scripture Prescription”.

Let’s earnestly seek the Lord this year and discover how satisfying it is to have his words and presence dwell in us richly.

This year, 2013, we are encouraging everyone to memorize 52 questions and answers about our Christian faith.  The catechism is a tool to help affirm what we believe.  Each Sunday we will be going over the previous week’s Q & A and learning the next week’s Q & A.  Use the resource at home to practice: http://www.newcitycatechism.com/home.php
